‘Racist’ Speaks at Martin Luther King Event

by Stephen Beale on March 15, 2010

FID Vice President Josh Unseth has written a post at brownivy.com on Brown’s decision to bring Tavis Smiley to speak at an event honoring Martin Luther King, Jr.

Racist, Tavis Smiley, Comes to Brown

I’ve heard of Tavis Smiley before, but I’ve never had a chance to listen to him, that is until Brown University posted his MLK Jr. speech. He says that America is not post-racial as a result of Obama’s Presidency, but, rather, that we are less racist. He also talks about “our friends on the political right” admitting his political ideology to a student group which he assumes to be of the same mind. He accuses the right of using Martin Luther’s words to put down programs like Affirmative Action and such.

By the way, if I have to explain why Affirmative Action is racists, then maybe you and I just won’t ever agree.

Thank you Tavis the racist for saying nothing of substance, at least you said it very well.
